PAISAJES / MICROFILM
Paisajes / Microfilm corresponde a una serie de fotografías intervenidas con diapositivas de película en microfilm, obras elaboradas a partir de un archivo de miles de negativos que la artista halló en su casa cuando era pequeña. En la serie se exhiben únicamente las rasgaduras y marcas del paso del tiempo en los fotogramas que no fueron originalmente expuestos del archivo de fotos que su padre tomó entre los años 70 y 80, mientras era militante y fotógrafo del Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionario (MIR) en Chile y en Ecuador, donde se exilió por 12 años.
Las diapositivas en microfilm, muestran frases escritas por él en correos electrónicos cuando supo que su hija iba a empezar a trabajar sobre este archivo, en 2016.
Landscapes/ Microfilm is a work of photographs combined with slides of microfilm.
The works are made from a archive of thousands of negatives that the artist found in her house when she was a child. In the images only the rips and marks of the passage of time are exhibited in the frames that were not originally exposed from the photo archive that her father took between the 70s and 80s, while he was a militant and photographer of the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionario -MIR (Revolutionary Left Movement) in Chile, and Ecuador, where he was exiled for 12 years. The microfilm slides show phrases written by him in emails when he knew that his daughter was going to start working on this archive, in 2016.
